The Backpacker

I never mentioned that I now have a car, have I? Oh I do, alright. If I could refer to it by any other name I would call it a “means of transport”, but it is rather a mouthful and the word “car” comes fairly close to describing it. (Wait till I put a pic of it here). It’s nearing a month now since I have been in possession of it. My run-in with walls, other cars, cops, lock-pickers, garage, pedestrians, (leave the mute trees, flowering plants and road block…the red cones, aside for they will never stand testimony to the torture they have been subjected to by my 6-cylinder Sonata) have been wide and varied, not to mention the precious Dh I have spent to restore it to its former self.

Every word, for you I wrote

Became a legend unforgettable,

Many may read or pay heed

To chapters in between

That marked the end 

Of a new beginning 

Every tear, for you I shed

Became an ocean immeasurable,

In it many may sail, try or fail

Against the waves

That mercilessly crash   

Against my hopes, frail

Every step, towards you I took

Became a milestone in history

Many may, by it walk

Stop, stare or admire or move on

But remain here, forever will I

With your love as my guide…
